This multicolored splendor from the North Rose Window of the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris is called the Alchemists' Rose Window and was created in the 13th century. The window is the supreme example of a rose window built up from a lattice of invisible geometry. This window owes its legacy to the centuries-old tradition of Rose Windows created to pay tribute to Mary, as symbolized by the rose. This particular window depicts the Old Testament, with prophets in the innermost circle, kings and judges in the next circle and high priests and more kings in the outermost circle. They all surround Mary who holds the Christ Child upon her knee. She represents the culmination of history before the birth of our Savior. Choose from two sizes 6 1/2" or 10 1/2" in diameter.
